Columbia University Gives Protesters 2 p.m. Deadline To Disperse, as Faculty Join Protests

April 29, 2024 (EIRNS)—Columbia University announced at 10 a.m. on April 29 that protesting students had until 2 p.m. to leave the pro-Palestine encampment. Students leaving by that time, identifying themselves to the police, and signing a probation form, would be allowed to remain in academic good standing. The threat is that those not leaving by 2 p.m. will lose the semester, be denied eligibility to graduate, and be denied access to the university and even to their dorm rooms.

The Columbia branch of Students for Justice in Palestine has announced that leaders of groups opposing Israel’s slaughter in Gaza will be giving a press conference at 2:30 p.m.
