April 22, 2024 (EIRNS)—Why is the spectacular failure of U.S. representative government and leadership, seen in Saturday’s “bipartisan,” “democratic” $100 billion vote to continue to finance the no-win depopulation wars in Gaza and Ukraine, a de facto active provocation for World War Three? And what can be done to reverse that failure?

During Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s April 22 address to the Moscow Nonproliferation Conference, he observed that NATO’s “obvious goal is to create a unilateral military advantage for themselves by setting new limits for nuclear arsenals while formalizing the aggregate Western superiority in the sphere of non-nuclear capabilities.… They are working energetically to implement a number of highly destabilizing military-technical programs. They include the creation of a global ballistic missile defense system, coupled with the stockpiling of precision weapons for delivering preemptive and decapitating ‘global strikes,’ the forward basing of U.S. nuclear arsenals in Europe, and their destabilizing development within the framework of NATO’s ‘joint nuclear missions.’”

Recall that on February 21, 2022, three days before the onset of Russia’s Special Military Operation, President Vladimir Putin said, in a televised speech: “I will explain that American strategic planning documents confirm the possibility of a so-called preemptive strike at enemy missile systems. We also know the main adversary of the United States and NATO. It is Russia….”

If the Russians believe, for example, that their eventual ground victory in Ukraine, a near-certainty, will trigger a strategic crisis within NATO expansionist circles and their failed governments, Russia must suspect, and would have to prepare for a “retaliation” to that victory. This might be similar to what occurred in the March 22 Crocus City Hall concert terrorist attack, just days after the Putin electoral victory, or it might be something far more lethal. A “Conventional Prompt Strike,” the updated name of the policy previously known as “Prompt Global Strike,” or even the threat of a thermonuclear attack, cannot be ruled out from the financially-bankrupt and increasingly desperate Anglo-Americans. Russia possesses hypersonic weapons that are capable of out-maneuvering anything presently deployable by trans-Atlantic military forces, but we must ask: Are we in something equivalent to 1962, but without a JFK capable of representing the United States? If that is the case, actions such as the Saturday April 20 vote can, beyond their immediate catastrophic effect, lead to World War Three.

When Judge Andrew Napolitano last week asked Col. Douglas Macgregor (ret.) the question: “Can you envision Prime Minister Netanyahu asking his war cabinet for their consent for him to use nuclear weapons, delivered into Iran?” Macgregor replied: “Yes. I’m sure that he would unhesitatingly use that capability against (even) Hezbollah. Because Hezbollah is probably at least as well fortified and dug in as the Ukrainians were in the Donbass. So his view is, we are not going to trade Israeli soldiers’ lives for half a mile, or two miles of ground. We’re going to essentially destroy it.…” If Macgregor is right, where is the U.S. leadership that would stop Israel? None of the Presidential candidates—none—appears to be up to the task.

Russian advances on the battlefields near Avdeyevka in the Central Donbass region; the UN Colonna Commission’s finding that Israel cannot substantiate its charges that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) harbored Hamas terrorists that played a role in the October 7 attacks; the panic among Israeli circles about the International Criminal Court issuing indictments of Israeli officials; and the political backlash that is coming about the $100 billion of new American debt that has been deployed to Ukraine, as well as the re-authorization of warrantless surveillance of all American citizens in principle by the intelligence agencies and FISA, mean that this Anglo-American ruling elite is an emperor without clothes.

Independent candidates for office, and independent advocates for a worked-through physical economic solution to war, such as the LaRouche Oasis Plan for Southwest Asia, can and must suddenly gain hegemony in the United States, for the sake of the world. New York United States Senate candidate Diane Sare and Congressional candidate Jose Vega, and their candidacies are, in that sense, the leading voices for stepping back from thermonuclear war, and stepping forward into a New Paradigm for peace through economic development.
