Trying to calm the waves after Cicero magazine exposed manipulations by government officials to prevent Germany from suspending the planned nuclear exit date in 2022, Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) claimed that the magazine’s revelations were irrelevant since none of the nuclear power operators actually wanted to put the exit date into question.
According to a Bild report, the operators are contradicting Habeck’s statement. The newspaper has received an internal letter from PreussenElektra to its own employees. In it, the management confirms that Habeck had presented the facts of the case in a “considerably abbreviated” manner and that key arguments for the feasibility of continued operation had been ignored.
