Renewables Policy Doubling Electricity Price in Germany

The Handelsblatt business daily calls attention to the fact that electricity bills for German industrial companies have doubled in June 2021, from March 2020, from 35 euros per megawatt/hour to 70. The price is set by free trading at the Leipzig-based EEX energy stock exchange—which treats renewables preferentially against fossil energy sources.
