Moscow Conferences Underlined the Push for a Science-Driven Development Policy

Cosmonautics Day in Moscow featuring Russian moves toward a science-driven development policy in the context of the development of relations among the countries of the Global South. One conference gathered Russian youth at Moscow State University entitled “Lomonosov-2024.” “ “The Lomonosov Forum is in its fourth decade, said Evgenii Alexandrovich Primakov, the head of Rosstrudnichestvo, the grandson of the famous Russia diplomat of the same name. “We fly higher and higher on Cosmonautics Day. The first participants of the first forum have already become great scientists, this is a real scientific process, a scientific school that cannot be stopped. Scientific cooperation can only be based on dialogue, on the flow of ideas from different scientific schools, on the creative process.” Rosstrudnichestvo is an independent agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, working on cooperation in the CIS and with patriots living abroad.

At the forum, within the framework of the Vernadsky scientific and educational consortium, 10 regional platforms were organized in Sarov, Novosibirsk, Ulyanovsk, Tambov regions, the Chechen Republic, Altai and Krasnoyarsk territories, Udmurtia, Dagestan and Mordovia. The conference also takes place on the basis of foreign branches of Moscow State University in Astana, Tashkent, Dushanbe, Yerevan and at the joint Russian-Chinese university MSU-PPI in Shenzhen. Conference participants were greeted by the Russian cosmonauts now on the International Space Station.
