Will Humanity Prosper or Perish? The Role of Today’s Schiller Institute Conference in Shaping History

As war, famine, disease, and cultural insanity threaten, a solution beckons.

COVID-19 cases continue to mount in the United States, with the number of daily new cases now exceeding what was hoped to be the “peak” in later April. Cases continue to rise exponentially in Brazil, Peru, and India. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reports that, unless $45 million is provided in very short order, 19 million people in Yemen risk losing access to health care, five million children will not be immunized against deadly diseases, and the number of undernourished children in that nation under five years of age would increase to 2.4 million. The New START nuclear arms control agreement – the only such agreement remaining between the U.S. and Russia – will expire in February 2021, if it is not extended.

The anti-Russia hysteria of the past years is nearly being matched by the growth of anti-China politicking. A “decoupling” of the United States and China is even discussed. The metastasized British Empire continues its attempts to disrupt any potential cooperation between the United States, Russia, China, and India – maintaining the ongoing coup attempt against President Trump and the vilification and attempted isolation of Presidents Putin and Xi.

Problems of such magnitude demand huge solutions. A brief report from the LaRouche Economic Task Force estimates that 7,000 new power plants (preferably nuclear, but certainly not the inherently low-tech and useless wind or solar) are required for the development of the residential, health, education, transportation, science, business, and manufacturing needs of Africa. To achieve this objective – which itself is only one aspect of the worldwide infrastructure renaissance that must be launched to bring human living into coherence with our dignity – requires a new paradigm of thought: about politics, economics, science, and culture.

A further indication that the world is looking to the legacy of Lyndon LaRouche for guidance, Schiller Institute Founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s recent article, which shows how President Putin’s discussion of World War II offers a precious flank for avoiding World War III today, was republished by a Russia-based BRICS research group.

Today’s Schiller Institute event comprises three panels: The first brings together leaders and thinkers from around the world to engage in a multi-faceted discussion of the profound geopolitical and strategic crises we face. The second takes up the powerful economic solutions developed by LaRouche and the LaRouche movement over decades, as expressed in the LaRouche plan to eliminate poverty, develop healthcare and create 1.5 billion new productive jobs worldwide. The third panel will facilitate a dialogue of the now-young leaders of tomorrow, from five continents, in bringing those solutions into being.

The event, accessible at this link ( https://schillerinstitute.com/blog/2020/06/26/conference-will-humanity-prosper-or-perish-the-future-demands-a-four-power-summit-now-2/ ), will run from 10 am – 6 pm, eastern time.

At the time this briefing is published, there are still some hours remaining to build the maximum attendance for this conference.
