July 6, 2020 (EIRNS)—MINING.com reported July 4 that “Moon Mining Could Begin as Early as 2025,” because, “Using data from the Miniature Radio Frequency (Mini-RF) instrument onboard NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), a team of [NASA] researchers came to the conclusion that the lunar subsurface contains a higher concentration of certain metals, such as iron and titanium, than estimated.” The data was collected while looking for ice in very deep Moon craters, analyzing dust from meteor impacts even in these craters. The study is published in Earth and Planetary Science Letters.
