Russians Overwhelmingly Back Putin's Constitutional Amendments

Russians overwhelmingly voted to approve the constitutional changes proposed by President Putin which, among other things, will allow him to run for office through 2036. That is very good news for the world. TASS reported that, with 85% of the ballots counted, 77.84% of Russians voted for the changes, with a voter turnout of around 65%. The required turnout is 50% and a simple majority must vote for the amendments for them to pass. According to the Levada pollster, Putin has a 60% approval rating in the population; at one point, it was as high as 90%.
