Senators McConnell and Graham Step Up Calls for Fighting COVID-19

Some U.S. Senators who may have previously slightly underestimated the COVID-19 crisis, are now becoming more vocal.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who is facing an election this year, stated about the novel coronavirus, “regretfully, this is not over. There were some that hoped this would go away sooner than it has. And I think straight talk here that everyone needs to understand, is that this is not going away.” He added, “This is going to be with us for a while. The coronavirus is not involved in American politics. It has its own way forward, and we need to act responsibly,” The Hill reported on July 18.
