Peter Navarro, White House Director of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, has again let loose with a personal attack on Dr.Tony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). In an opinion piece published July 14 in USA Today, he asserts that “Anthony Fauci has been wrong about everything I have interacted with him on.”
Navarro insists that while he personally was “feverishly” advising the President to attack and punish China — cut off flights, etc. — Fauci fought against the President’s “courageous decision,” “flip-flopped,” on many issues such as the use of masks, and denied the usefulness of hydroxychloroquine in treating COVID-19. “So when you ask me whether I listen to Dr. Fauci’s advice, my answer is: only with skepticism and caution.”
