First Arab Nuclear Power Generated in United Arab Emirates

The first nuclear power generated in the Arab world took place today, as the first of four nuclear power plants being built by South Korea’s KEPCO was fired up on the Persian Gulf coast. The plant was expected to open in 2017 but the start-up was repeatedly delayed because of various safety issues. The four plants will eventually provide one-fourth of the U.A.E. energy needs.
