Indictment in Breonna Taylor Case Followed by Pre-Planned Violence

Kentucky’s Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced yesterday that a grand jury had handed down indictments to only one of the three policemen involved in the killing of Breonna Taylor, and not for murder or manslaughter but for three felony counts of reckless endangerment. This was followed by pre-planned violent protests, including the shooting of two policemen (both are recovering in the hospital) by a suspect who is now in custody. Cameron, who is a Black pro-Trump Republican (and often referred to as a “rising star” in the Republican Party), gave a press conference announcing the indictments in which he was both very upset, but also strongly defended applying the law and the facts dispassionately, to not be ruled by mobs or uninformed emotions.
