Niger To Stick To Decision Not To Proceed with Reinstating UN Sanctions on Iran

In New York, Niger UN Ambassador Abdou Abarry assumed the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of September yesterday, and indicated that his government will stick to the position that the U.S. has no standing to initiate the snap back of sanctions on Iran under UN Security Council resolution 2231. “We’re staying with this decision ... that was stated and announced by the president of the Security Council last month,” he said, reported Reuters.
