That is the title of the upcoming Sept. 26 all-day youth conference being organized by the Schiller Institute, which will be keynoted by Helga Zepp-LaRouche, and will feature the participation both of veteran fighters for Lyndon LaRouche’s exoneration (from Europe, Ibero-America, the United States and elsewhere), as well as young organizers and activists from around the world. These youth, speaking from various nations in Africa, Ibero-America, Europe and the United States, will emphasize what the world could have looked like in their respective countries and continents, had LaRouche’s policies and programs been adopted over the last 50 years, and what the world can still look like, if he is exonerated and his policies at last implemented.
The crossroads indicated by the conference’s title is of course not only before youth, but is being faced by all of humanity.
In the days leading into this weekend’s conference, grave tensions are escalating in various theaters across the planet, in each case deliberately stoked by the British Empire in their deadly effort to maintain political control as their entire bankrupt old order plunges into a systemic crisis.
On the Russia front, provocations in the airspace over the Black Sea continue on a daily basis, with two Russian Su-27 fighter jets scrambling to intercept two American B-52 bombers yesterday, as they were flying in the direction of Russia. The U.S. and NATO meanwhile had a small flotilla of aircraft in the vicinity to monitor and profile Russia’s defensive response.
Regarding China, provocations emanating from Mike Pompeo’s State Department encouraging Taiwan separatism have reached such a fever pitch that President Xi Jinping took the unusual step of personally re-stating China’s red-line posture on this matter before the United Nations: “We will not sit back and watch the damage to national sovereignty, national dignity, and development space. We will firmly safeguard our legitimate rights and interests and safeguard international fairness and justice.”
And in the United States, the British are escalating their gambit to blow up the country in the run-up to the November presidential election — using a combination of Jacobin street violence and avid promotion of vote fraud through buckshot mailing out of ballots, including to those who didn’t even request them. Mitt Romney revealingly responded to fabricated media headlines that “Trump won’t commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses” (Trump never said that) by tweeting: “Fundamental to democracy is the peaceful transition of power; without that, there is Belarus.” The British game-plan of unleashing a color revolution in the United States, as they are now attempting in Belarus, is here on full display.
Behind these crises in the Russia, China and U.S. theaters, is a single British policy to preserve their system, at the cost of the likely extinction of the better part of the planet.
Helga Zepp-LaRouche took this up in discussions with associates on Sept. 22:
“The strategic situation is already super-tense with Russian maneuvers going on still, and a pattern of air provocations. One can expect that in the period between now and the U.S. election, and very probably beyond, tensions will escalate dramatically. And the effects of the second wave, or resurgence of the first wave of the coronavirus, will include increasing unemployment and bankruptcies. This is all going to escalate.
“So we must keep the focus on creating an environment where the leaders of the most important nuclear powers in the world, but also the economic powers in the world, have to take responsibility and change the dynamic which is otherwise absolutely going towards a catastrophe. From that standpoint, it is useful that, despite the fact that the P5 summit [of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council] did not take place in the context of the UN General Assembly, Russian President Putin used his speech before the UNGA to call for a `G5’ summit in person, as he now calls it, as soon as it is possible epidemiologically.
“We can take a certain amount of credit for that, because this has been the focus of our different Schiller Institute conferences since April, where we said this summit must start a process of creating a new dynamic in the world, a New Bretton Woods, a World Health System. Now we have to absolutely escalate that campaign. The fact that Putin made that the key point in his UN speech is a very good, promising sign,” Zepp-LaRouche stated.
