UN Ambassador Zhang Slams U.S. for Blaming China over COVID- 19

In response to the wild accusations from President Donald Trump, and particularly, the recent outburst by U.S. Ambassador to the UN Kelly Craft demanding that China be held accountable for the COVID-19 pandemic, Chinese Ambassador to the United Nations Zhang Jun issued a statement blasting these groundless charges, during the summit-level debate on “global governance after COVID-19,” on Sept. 24. “I must say, enough is enough. You have created enough troubles for the world already,” Zhang quoted as saying by Xinhua. “The United States should understand that its failure in handling COVID-19 is totally its own fault,” and stating that nearly 7 million people have been infected in the U.S. and more than 200,000 have died.

“With the most advanced medical technologies and systems in the world, why has the U.S. turned out to have the most confirmed cases and fatalities?” Zhang demanded to know. “If someone should be held accountable, it should be a few U.S. politicians themselves.”
