NASA’s SOFIA Found Water in the Sunlit Region of the Moon!

Did you hear the news? NASA’s Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) has identified water molecules in the sunlit region of the Moon! Today, during a NASA media teleconference, the announcement was made of the new discovery. NASA’s press announcement stated, “This new discovery contributes to NASA’s efforts to learn about the Moon in support of deep space exploration.”

This remarkable discovery comes just in time, as we look forward to achieving the goal set forth in the Trump Administration, of landing the first woman and the next man on the Moon by 2024. We are going with the intention to learn to live and work on the Moon for long-term use and exploration, as we prepare the way for launching humans to Mars. As was noted during the teleconference, water is critical for deep space exploration, for oxygen, drinking, and fuel.
