This year’s Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the World Food Program (WFP) for serving as “a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict.” WFP chief David Beasley, who has warned of the possibility of “famines of biblical proportions,” has urged billions of dollars worth of additional donations to help the nearly 700 million people who go to bed on an empty stomach. Of course, this honor would be significantly more meaningful had it not been absurdly awarded to the despicable Barack Obama, who, along with the other two U.S. Presidents receiving the award while in office — Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson — was particularly undeserving.
