NASA reported that there are indications that its OSIRIS-REx spacecraft has successfully collected dust from asteroid Bennu. This is NASA’s first such mission. If the mission is deemed complete, the spacecraft will begin its trip back to Earth in March 2021, and the material will be returned to Earth in a sealed capsule in 2023. If further analysis indicates that the spacecraft did not capture any dust or pebbles, there can be a second attempt in January.
