Deputy National Security Advisor Matthew Pottinger again issued one of his Mandarin-language appeals to “his friends in China” to follow up on the call of the British Empire’s The Economist to declare China guilty of “crimes against humanity” because of its alleged incarceration of Uyghurs in Xinjiang province.
“It is in a spirit of friendship, reflection, and, yes, candor, that I ask friends in China to research the truth about your government’s policies toward the Uyghur people and other religious minorities,” Pottinger said to a videoconference hosted by the think tank Policy Exchange in London, which was also posted on the White House website. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-deputy-national-security-advisor-matt-pottinger-london-based-policy-exchange/
