During a hearing of the Senate Commerce Committee today, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) grilled Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey about their platforms’ actions to censor the New York Post reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop. He asked whether they had any evidence that the Hunter Biden emails were doctored or an example of Russian disinformation.
“We don’t,” replied Dorsey, who said lamely that they thought the materials might have been hacked and therefore blocked it in a decision that was reversed within 24 hours. (Although the New York Post is still locked out of its Twitter account.)
