U.S. and Taiwan Launch Joint Infrastructure Plan in Asia-Pacific

The U.S. and Taiwan have signed an agreement to work together on infrastructure development in Southeast Asia and Latin America. While any development in infrastructure is welcome news, this is openly aimed at countering China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and is most likely to be linked with Pompeo-style demands that recipients of any investment must also cut relations with China.
