Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has called for creating new rail links in Central Asia, the president’s press service said Oct. 30. “First of all, we are talking about the pairing of the Trans-Siberian Railway and the Western Europe-Western China transport corridor with new railway projects in our region,” Mirziyoyev said in a video message during the International Forum on Northern Economic Cooperation 2020.
The forum, initiated by South Korea, started yesterday in Seoul under the theme “Global Changes after COVID-19 and the Future of Northern Economic Cooperation.” Leaders of South Korea, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia and other countries are attending the conference.
