World Food Program Thanks American People for Generosity Vs Hunger

White House backing of the UN World Food Program to date, and WFP Executive Director David Beasley’s appreciation for it, is evident in tweets between him and Ivanka Trump over the past three years. Besides relating to world hunger, Ivanka has been designated by her father as also the liaison to programs against hunger in the U.S. over the past eight months of COVID-19.

On Oct. 9, the World Food Program was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Ivanka Trump wrote: “Congratulations @WFP and @WFPChief! The U.S. is the largest donor to the #WorldFoodProgramme and the American taxpayer and the American public should be proud of their role in alleviating extreme poverty + lifting the world’s most vulnerable.”

Beasley wrote: “@IvankaTrump, thank you for always supporting our work. You’ve been a fan of @WFP since Day 1! We’ll never forget it. We’re so humbled by the generosity of the American people. With your voice, we hope this inspires even more to stand up & take action against hunger and poverty.”
