China’s Chang’e-5 lunar probe successfully carried out a braking maneuver and entered the Moon’s orbit at 07:58 EST (12:58 UTC; 20:58 Beijing time) on Saturday. According to China National Space Administration, after a 112-hour flight, the Chang’e-5 lunar probe ignited its engine about 400km above the Moon’s surface for 17 minutes, decelerating enough to be captured by the Moon’s gravitational force.
