Hungary and Poland Veto EU Budget: Recovery Fund Like a Fata Morgana

The ambassadors of Hungary and Poland vetoed the EU budget as recently negotiated by the EU Commission, the EU Council, and the EU Parliament, at a meeting of the Coreper, the council of EU ambassadors to the EU Commission, Nov. 16. The two countries objected to the clause that ties funding with adherence to the rule of law in the bloc.
