Xinhua: Xi Jinping Calls on Us To Learn from Dr. Sun Yat Sen

Xinhua posted a short video yesterday honoring Chinese patriot Sun Yat Sen, whose leadership in ending centuries of feudal rule in China, as they note, had great international impact. The 154th anniversary of Dr. Sun’s birthday was celebrated on Nov. 12. Xinhua captioned the video “Stories from Xi Jinping": “President Xi Jinping calls on the Chinese people to learn from Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s noble patriotism and devotion to the motherland, and carry on the pursuit for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.” Mixed in with a brief history of Sun’s life are quotes from Xi Jinping’s 2016 speech honoring him as the man whose grand blueprint for rejuvenation is being carried out today—sometimes beyond his expectations, as in China is moving out into space.
