Barr Makes John Durham a ‘Special Prosecutor’

Attorney General Barr told AP Tuesday, Dec. 1, that he had appointed John Durham, who has been investigating the crimes committed in the Russiagate coup attempt against President Donald Trump, as a “Special Prosecutor” to continue his investigation. “I decided the best thing to do would be to appoint them under the same regulation that covered Bob Mueller, to provide Durham and his team some assurance that they’d be able to complete their work regardless of the outcome of the election,” Barr said. The New York Times reported that “Under federal regulations, a special counsel can be fired only by the attorney general and for specific reasons such as misconduct, dereliction of duty, or conflict of interest. An attorney general must document such reasons in writing.”

While this will protect the investigation if the Democrats take over the White House, the real question is, why didn’t Barr and Durham get the truth to the American people before the election. Roger Stone told EIR months ago that Barr could not be trusted, that he was a “Bush-leaguer,” loyal to Bush, not Trump.

Barr also announced that Durham’s investigation is limited to the FBI agents engaged in the fraudulent investigation, meaning that the blatant crimes of the entire Obama intelligence community, including the liars Clapper and Brennan, are likely being ignored, as well as the direct role of MI6 and other British intelligence operatives.

The New York Times was delighted: “The focus on the FBI, rather than the CIA and the intelligence community, suggests that Durham may have moved past some of the more incendiary claims that Trump supporters had hoped would yield allegations of misconduct, or even crimes — namely, the question of how intelligence agencies reached their conclusion that Russia had interfered in the 2016 election.”
