Thomas Friedman, the New York Times columnist most famous for his view that the world is flat, held the first interview with Joe Biden since his newspaper falsely anointed him “President-elect.” Asked about China, Biden said he had no intention of removing the 25% tariffs imposed on China during the trade negotiations, but planned to “work with our allies to develop a coherent strategy.”
Friedman then took note that President Donald Trump, since he did not kowtow to America’s “allies,” did not “mobilize a global coalition against China,” something that Friedman was certain Biden would be able to do, proclaiming, “Biden’s strategy will not be welcome in China.”
