The U.S. House of Representatives yesterday passed a bill to decriminalize marijuana nationally, by a vote of 228 to 164, with 6 Democrats voting against it and 5 Republicans voting for it. The Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act, as it is called, is unlikely to pass the Senate. It was passed as an “anti-racist” bill, since more Blacks are arrested for pot than Whites. If it were to become law, more Blacks and Whites could destroy their brains without getting arrested — a delightful outcome for the pot lobby.
