Japan’s Hayabusa2 Brings Back a Wealth of Material from Asteroid Ryugu

Japan’s Hayabusa2 spacecraft has returned 5.4 grams of particles from asteroid Ryugu, Science and Technology Minister Haginda Koichi announced to the press today. That is more than had been the target amount.

This is Japan’s second try to recover material from an asteroid, Hyabusa1 having been able to capture less than 1 gram of material from an asteroid.
