Morning D.C. Rally Addressed by Trump, Giuliani, and Eastman

A rally at the Ellipse which stretched from the Ellipse in front of the White House past the Washington Monument, with people from all over the country, was addressed by several speakers, including former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Prof.John Eastman, and U.S. President Donald Trump.

Giuliani said that everything they are proposing is legal and appropriate. According to his interpretation of the Electoral Count Act of 1887, the Vice President can cast aside the results of the election, by deciding on the validity of the electors, or by sending the question back to the states’ legislators, to decide over 5 to 10 days on the questions raised. (This novel interpretation seems plainly to be at odds with the text of the law, which is only three pages long.)

Eastman spoke to violations of law in the conduct of the elections, to the old-fashioned fraud that occurred, and the use of trickery with “secret folders” in voting machines to create additional fake votes — as he claimed occurred in Georgia on Tuesday, Jan. 5. Eastman called on Pence to allow the state legislatures to look into this.
