Unbowed as ever, President Trump spoke out sharply today against the attacks on free speech and the drive to remove him from office even at this late date, warning those involved that they may reap the whirlwind by so doing. The President made very clear that he is neither threatening nor condoning violence by his warnings, but rather addressing the reality facing the country. Trump spoke to the press on these matters twice on his way down to Texas, and again when he delivered a speech at the border wall in McAllen.
“Before we begin, I’d like to say that free speech is under assault like never before. The 25th Amendment is of zero risk to me but will come back to haunt Joe Biden and the Biden administration. As the expression goes: Be careful what you wish for,” Trump warned in McAllen. “The impeachment hoax is a continuation of the greatest and most vicious witch hunt in the history of our country, and it is causing tremendous anger and division and pain — far greater than most people will ever understand, which is very dangerous for the USA, especially at this very tender time.
“And now I’d like to briefly address the events of last week,” he went on. “Millions of our citizens watched on Wednesday as a mob stormed the Capitol and trashed the halls of government.
