Showing just how easy it is to control the narrative world, an investigation by Revolver News has pieced together evidence showing that the story repeated in the court of public opinion and at the absurd impeachment trial — that U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick was “killed by a pro-Trump mob” (New York Times), “bludgeoned by a fire extinguisher” (USA Today) — simply isn’t true.
Nearly every aspect of the New York Times reporting was false. There was no fire extinguisher. There was no “bloody gash in his head.” It appears that claims he was “rushed to the hospital” from the Capitol are untrue. The next afternoon, his family received calls that he had died, calls coming not from doctors or the hospital, but from media outlets. But he was still alive.
