Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar spoke by phone on Feb. 25 shortly after the two sides had reached an agreement on reducing forces on the China-India border, in order to avoid the type of conflict that erupted in June, with soldiers killed on both sides. Wang Yi observed that the two ancient civilizations at the same historical stage of development and revitalization, should follow up the agreement with resolving differences in many areas. The two sides should work to achieve the strategic agreement made between the leaders of the two countries.
