Fox Business Drops the Very Popular 'Lou Dobbs Tonight' Program After Smartmatic Sues

Fox Business canned its most highly rated show, “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” after Smartmatic filed a $2.7 billion lawsuit Feb. 4 for defamation by Fox News, Dobbs, fellow Fox reporters Jeanine Pirro and Maria Bartiromo, as well as Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell.

“Lou Dobbs Tonight” is off the air, effective immediately, a Fox spokesperson confirmed to CNN. The Los Angeles Times, which broke the news, said Dobbs “remains under contract at Fox News but he will in all likelihood not appear on the company’s networks again.”

The lawsuit accused Dobbs of having been “one of the primary proponents” of a “disinformation campaign” against Smartmatic, CNN reports. It claims Dobbs’ promoted conspiracy theories about the 2020 election results, allowed guests to defame Smartmatic, and “took the initiative and contributed additional falsehoods to the narrative.” Smartmatic, whose chairman is Lord Mark Malloch-Brown, has been deeply involved in vote fraud around the world for many years.

Dobbs was a major Trump supporter and was often praised by Trump, so this is clearly part of the effort to “cancel” Trump altogether.
