Mike Pompeo gave cheering crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Florida a preview of the stump speech he will be giving in bid to replace Trump as the Republican candidate in 2024 — with none of Trump’s good qualities and all of the evil he imposed on America and the world over the past four years.
He began by expressing relief that he was no long a diplomat, so he did not have to be diplomatic (does anyone remember him ever being diplomatic?). His words: “What’s good news today for me is when you’re a diplomat, when you’re the 70th Secretary of State, you have to stay in your lane. I don’t have that. I’m not a diplomat. I’m going to let it rip.” He ranted about the evils of China, gloried in his role in assassinating Iran’s military leader Qasem Soleimani, and so forth.
