India and Pakistan Agree To Stop Cross-Border Fire in Kashmir

In a joint statement the Director Generals of Military Operations of India and Pakistan have agreed to completely stop the firing along the border, including the Line of Control, from today, February 25.

“Both sides have agreed to the strict observance of all agreements, understandings and cease firing along the Line of Control and all other sectors with effect from midnight 24/25 Feb 2021,” read the joint statement, which was issued after the two armies had held discussions over the established mechanism of using a hotline contact on Thursday.

The two sides reviewed the situation along the Line of Control and all other sectors in “a free, frank and cordial atmosphere".
