In statements yesterday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov attacked the EU and the U.S. for speaking about sanctions with “maniacal persistence.” Brussels “regrettably” keeps talking about sanctions as does the U.S., he said. “This is something we will never welcome … something we do not like at all.” He expressed the hope that Russia’s political will to continue dialogue “will gain the upper hand, and the most complex issues in relations with the West will be resolved exclusively within the framework of a dialogue.”
