In a Feb. 23 Wall Street Journal commentary, Mike Pompeo and his principal China policy and planning adviser while he was at the State Department, Miles Yu, again beat the drums of war that “China’s Reckless Labs Put the World at Risk,” charging alleged “negligence on biosafety” by the Chinese Communist Party at its virus labs, “as evidenced by a novel coronavirus that escaped Wuhan.”
They claim “enormous” evidence of this accusation, while baldly admitting that evidence is “largely circumstantial.” Leading the list of “largely circumstantial” evidence they present are the two regularly-cited 2018 State Department cables which warned of the Wuhuan lab’s biosafety problems.
