Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told a briefing on Thursday that he sees signals that the Biden Administration is open to renewing a strategic dialogue.
“We see signals that Washington is open to launching the new stage of strategic dialogue between our countries. Meanwhile, we are set to deal with the most challenging aspects of the strategic sphere in the most decisive way. We plan to immediately launch this effort as soon as Washington is ready for it,” Ryabkov said according to TASS.
“Regarding the issue of the Chinese, during one of Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s first public speeches, China was mentioned in the context of arms control, but we saw no attempts by the US to rigidly bind the future in this area to China’s participation in the relevant dialogue or multilateral processes following the advent of the new administration. One can welcome this fact,” he said.
