Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Chris Coons (D-DE) have been joined by several other senators to reintroduce their bill ("Holding Russia Accountable for Malign Activities Act").
“This bill would impose targeted sanctions against Russian officials complicit in brazen violations of international law including the poisoning and imprisonment of opposition leader and anti-corruption activist Alexey Navalny,” a statement from Rubio’s office said.
It also directs the U.S. administration to determine “if the Kremlin has violated U.S. laws prohibiting the use of chemical and biological weapons.” The bill further demands “a report on the assassination of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov.”
