Biden and BoJo Discuss Strategy for the Climate Summit

President Biden and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke by phone on March 26 to strategize over the upcoming Leaders Summit on Climate. According to the White House readout, they discussed “the importance of developing ambitious climate goals, noting the opportunities provided by the Leaders Summit on Climate and the U.K.’s G7 presidency.” The Guardian reported that the meeting will be virtual and will be livestreamed, apparently to let the leaders grandstand about what a great job they are doing in cutting carbon emissions. The Guardian doesn’t know if “Russia and China, both on the list of invitees, will respond or if they are willing to cooperate with any U.S.-led climate initiative.”
