Russia To Orbit 38 Satellites with Monday Launch

Russia’s State Space Corporation Roscosmos Director Dmitry Rogozin told TASS on March 20 that the launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket is scheduled for March 22, from Baikonur spaceport. The rocket, together with a Fregat booster, will launch into orbit 38 satellites from 18 countries.

This includes the Republic of Korea’s CAS500-1 Earth remote sensing satellite, Japan’s ELSA-d space junk removal craft and GRUS Earth remote sensing micro-satellites, and Saudi Arabia’s NAJM-1 Earth imaging and communications satellite.
