China’s Global Times reports that following the intense opening, the Alaska dialogue between China and the U.S. “went smoothly and the result was far better than people’s expectations.” There were three rounds of talks.

“The very role of a strategic dialogue is to boost mutual understanding and avoid strategic miscalculation,” Global Times writes. “To this end, the latest one between China and the U.S. made some progress.”

Although the U.S. views its system of alliances as a bargaining chip to assert pressure, China states its opposition to geopolitics, opting for joint projects for development. “It is a fantasy to strike China down.”
