The second day of Biden’s Leaders’ Climate Summit was largely cabinet members and others trying to sell the line that the Green New Deal is the path to recovery with jobs jobs jobs. In fact, Biden’s opening speech on Thursday, April 22 had the revealing comment on those jobs: “I see workers capping hundreds of thousands of abandoned oil and gas wells that need to be cleaned up, and abandoned coal mines that need to be reclaimed putting a stop to methane leaks.” Plenty of work shutting down the economy.
