Moves for German-Russian Collaboration on Sputnik V Vaccines

The Minister President of Saxony Michael Kretschmer tweeted: “Germany is negotiating 3X10 million doses of Sputnik V for June, July and August, premised upon the EMA quickly issuing approval,” according to RT’s translation. ([https://twitter.com/MPKretschmer/status/1385158355790991361]) In Moscow, Kretschmer met with Russia’s Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko. Further, the Kremlin website reported that Kretschmer was able to have a discussion with President Putin about Sputnik V, Ukraine and Navalny. Of note, based upon an analysis of data from 3.8 million vaccinated cases, Sputnik V’s real-world efficacy is at 97.6%—even better than the clinical trials.
