A Kremlin press service statement reported today that President Vladimir Putin will participate in the April 22-23 virtual summit on climate change, and that in his remarks “Putin will outline Russia’s approaches in the context of establishing a broad international cooperation geared to reverse negative impacts of the global climate change.” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov added, “It will be a live address,” broadcast on national TV. There is no word yet on whether Chinese President Xi Jinping will also participate in Biden’s climate bash; he did deliver the keynote address to the opening ceremony of the annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA).
