Videos and pictures on social media, very painful to see, of dozens of dead bodies found floating in the Ganges or on its banks in the state of Bihar, are horrifying Indians. While not proven yet, it is assumed that these are people who died of COVID, and local residents are reported to be pleading with the government to help, terrified that the disease will spread through the river.
