While describing its Pathway to Zero emissions by 2050 as narrow but achievable, the International Energy Agency report, “Net Zero By 2050, a Roadmap for the Global Energy Sector” (see Briefing for Wednesday, May 19), implicitly betrays that the Pathway is in reality a mockery. In fact, after calling for annual additions of “solar PV to reach 630 GW,” it goes on that “it is equivalent to installing the world’s current largest solar park roughly every day.” Pretty narrow pathway, isn’t it?
