While the ceasefire is holding thus far, Israeli security forces again entered the compound of the Al Aqsa Mosque, yesterday, using stun grenades and rubber bullets against the thousands of Palestinians at Friday prayers, while also celebrating a delayed Eid al-Fitr. A CNN journalist said police hit himself and other journalists with batons.
The Palestinian Authority issued a statement: “The Israeli government, by continuing its policy of provocation, attacks and incursions, is challenging international efforts that have been made to reach a calm and stop the violence and escalation in Jerusalem and the occupied Palestinian territories, and to stop the aggression on Gaza.” At least 20 were injured.
Bibi Netanyuahu was boasting about his kills: “Hamas can’t hide any more. We hit Hamas more than their leaders ever could have imagined. We changed the rules of the game with this operation.”
